Esmeralda Raquel Galindo, our Sunshine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on November 25, 2020 at the age of 14.

Esmeralda was born in San Antonio on March 18, 2006 to Angeles Rocio Galindo, mother. Esmeralda was raised since birth and until her last breath by her grandmother Maria Ortiz, whose endless-love, care, and goodness is deeper than the sea. Despite Sunshine's short-life, she brought immense joy to those around her, along with setting an example of resiliency, courage, and love.

While Sunshine never had the opportunity to walk, her grandmother's love and unconditional bond taught her to fly. Sunshine was unable to speak but grandmother's voice was there to defend her at every moment and was greater than anything you can imagine.
At birth Doctors didn't believe Sunshine would live past 5 years, and while 14 years was not nearly enough, this is a testament to her determination to fight and what true love can do.

Sunshine will forever be remembered and loved by her grandmother, Maria, grandfather Ricardo, mother Angeles, brothers and sisters: Gilberto, Gabriela, and Rocio. Sunshine's aunt Maria, Uncle Martin and cousins Kamila and Martin JR. Uncle Daniel, Aunt Adanary, and cousins Dariela, Ximena, and Clarissa.

The family sends immense gratitude to the entire medical professionals who cared for Sunshine, a especial gratitude to Dr. Medellín and Nancy Lurati who cared for Sunshine throughout  her life, showed us compassion and gave us hope along the way. Your dedication to Sunshine was deeply felt by our family.
