With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved Esmeralda Z. Lopez, who entered eternal rest on July 14, 2026, at the age of 67.
Esmeralda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, family member, and friend whose gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unconditional love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, kindness, and compassion.
Born to Jose Zepeda and Josie Zepeda, Esmeralda was the sixth of ten children. Growing up in a large family helped shape the loving, caring woman she became. She shared a special bond with each of her brothers and sisters, and family was always at the center of her life.
Throughout her life, Esmeralda endured tremendous loss with remarkable grace. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lazaro Lopez; her parents, Jose Zepeda and Josie Zepeda; and two of her cherished sisters, Elta Sanchez, the seventh of the family, and Hilda Peña, the eighth. Though she deeply missed each of them, she carried their love in her heart every day.
Esmeralda found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved making beautiful beaded bracelets, painting figurines, and spending quiet afternoons working on puzzles. She also adored her beloved dogs, Blessie and Blue, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy.
Above all else, Esmeralda’s greatest blessing was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to Caseyopia Galindo (George Eric Galindo) and Lucinda Gonzalez (Roberto Gonzalez). She was also an incredibly proud grandmother to Irainna, Erica, Jayson, Frankie, and Samuel. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved each of them with her whole heart.
Esmeralda leaves behind her loving children, grandchildren, her surviving brothers and sisters, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were forever enriched by her kindness and love.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her creativity, her generous heart, and her unwavering love for those around her. Her legacy is not measured only by the years she lived, but by the countless lives she touched with her compassion, strength, and selfless love.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in believing that she has been joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, her parents, and her sisters who went before her. While we will miss her deeply every day, we will continue to honor her by loving one another the way she loved us—with patience, grace, and an open heart.
