Esperanza "Hope"
E. Camargo
April 3, 1945 – November 27, 2020
Esperanza (Hope) E. Camargo passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the blessed age of 75. She was born April 3, 1945 in San Antonio, TX to Abelino and Guadalupe Elizondo. Esperanza is now reunited in Heaven with her parents and beloved husband, Richard E. Camargo. She is survived by her three children, Sandra E. Tamez, Philip H. Tamez, and Barbara E. Tamez, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.
During her time on this earth, Esperanza most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted fan for many decades of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs (and would be happy to tell you where she was when they won their first Championship). Her most loved activities included deer hunting, many family trips, dancing, and visiting casinos near and far.
Esperanza began a career with the US Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base in January 1969. She worked first as a Clerk Typist, was selected to train as a Computer Programmer in 1981, and eventually retired as a Division Chief in April 1997. While working full-time and raising her young family, Esperanza attended night school to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1985, with honors.
Esperanza will be remembered for her very generous heart, strong spirit, and deep devotion to God and family. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her children and she will live forever in our hearts.
