April 23, 1926 – October 3, 2020
Esperanza G Moreno
Born April 23, 1926, Gained her wings at the age of 94 on October 3, 2020 .
She was my mommy's (Frances G Medel) first cousin but you would think they were sisters.
Esperanza is Preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Paula Moreno, Brothers David and Gilberto Moreno and Sister Socorro Luckett
She is survived by nephew Gilbert Jr and niece Antonia Moreno of Chicago, Il nephew Carlos Hustien of Katy, Texas and God daughter Martha Suzanne Perez-Reyna. She is also survived by a host of cousins, extend family and life long friends that will miss her tremendously. She dedicated her life to serve in her Parrish Imaculate of Conception Church. As a Guadalupana she held the position of bookkeeper and other roles, Hijas de Maria, Madres Christianans, Liturgy and Echuristric Minister. She was a proud graduate class of 44 from Lanier High School she loved her school and was a huge fan of her Voks She worked for SAISD as Librarian Assistant at Brewer Elementary till she retired. She was well known by the children whose lives she touched they always asked me how she was doing and shared a story of what she meant to them growing up. She loved music and would move in her humble way to the tunes I played for her A special thanks to St Francis Nursing Home and staff for all their attention and care for her.
Her special friends Aide Arredondo who would often showed up for a visit with a group of ladies from her church to sing not just to Esperanza but to all the residents on the 2nd floor dining room. Childhood friend Modesta Cutirin of Los Angeles, Ca that called often to see how she was doing. She even came to visit her last year.
Esperanza was very dear and close to those close to her especially to me, Dominique my sons and Red (Nick). she loved me as much as I loved her and she made it clear she did not care to share me with anyone. I will miss her always.
When her time here on earth was coming to and end I still couldn't ask the Lord to take her so I prayed that he give her peace. I witnessed the peace she had especially the last week and I knew he had answered me. Isaiah 41:10
