Obituary

Esther F. Guerrero was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 19, 1942, to Jose & Maria Fuentes. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.

Esther is survived by her husband Daniel who were about to celebrate 67 years of marriage this coming March. She is loved and will be missed by her children Estella Chavez and husband Gilbert, Daniel Guerrero Jr., Sylvia Flores, Mary Zecca, Diana Hornsby and husband Michael, Antonio Guerrero and wife Marlo.

Esther was also a wonderful grandmother to 18 grandchildren, great grandmother to 37 and she was also a great-great grandmother to 7.  What a blessing! She loved us all and we can all say that we were her favorite because that is just how she treated you.  She had enough love for all of us!

Also survived by numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Esther was born and raised in the church and always taught her children about the goodness of God.  Any chance she had, she would attend church programs, luncheons and just loved to fellowship with her church family.  If you knew her, you knew her love of plants and gardening, sewing and making quilts for each of her grandchildren, and her love of baking.  She made the best apple cakes, powdered crescent pecan cookies, sliced apple pancakes with powdered sugar and during Christmas time, she would make pecan praline and divinity candies.  Yum!!  The one thing we will certainly miss is her cooking.  We all would ask for the recipe, but it was always, "I don't know, just add a little of this and a pinch of that" and even if we tried, we could never get it right. If it was our birthday, she knew what our favorite food was and make it… Anything from shrimp cocktail, pork chops, gorditas, chicken mole, albondigas, I could go on and on.  Whether it was a family function or someone just visiting, she would "whip" something up just to share a meal with you.

Esther is proceeded in death by her father, Jose Fuentes, mother, Maria Fuentes, brothers, Joe Fuentes and Luis Fuentes and beloved little sister, Linda Lara.

Esther is and was loved by so many.  She will be missed each and every second of every day.  She loved life and loved everyone unconditionally.  We were everything to her.  Our hearts will always ache but we are all so thankful that God placed her in our lives and so we promise, to love as she did.
