Obituary

Eulalia Morales Gonzales was born at home in San Antonio on February 12, 1935. She spent a happy childhood with her 11 siblings and her parents, Jose and Conception Gonzales, on Chihuahua Street. Her father was a horse trainer who spoke German and Spanish and often worked in New Braunfels.

Eulalia married Raul Johnson Arsate on November 13, 1950. Raul had just been honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Air Corps. Together, they raised five children: Raul Jr., Ruben, Rolando, Ricardo, and Rozzana. Raul owned the Arsate Masonry Construction Company, which completed many masonry projects around San Antonio, including work at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.

Her husband, Raul, passed away in 1998. In the last 20 years of her life, Eulalia was able to travel extensively with her children and grandchildren across the United States, from the West Coast to the East Coast, including a grand tour of Yellowstone National Park and countless other destinations.

Eulalia is survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. All of Eulalia's siblings preceded her in death.

Eulalia lived a full life and passed peacefully on April 17, 2026, in San Antonio.
