Obituary

Evangelina H. Gomez, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2022.  She was 70 years of age. Evangelina was born on September 14, 1951, in San Antonio, Tx.

She went to Lanier HIgh School and was a member of the Blue Jackets Pep Squad and Drill Team. Vangie, as she was called, graduated in 1970. After High School, Evangelina worked for many companies, notably USAA and NISD.  She loved country and tejano music, dancing, and watching a good Lifetime Channel movie.  One of her passions was just sitting and chatting with her two sisters, Paulita and Anita.  Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life and they will all miss her greatly.
Evangelina is preceded in death by her mother, Anita Hernandez.
She is loved and will be missed by her beloved spouse of 21 years Joe A. Mendoza; sons Richard Gomez Jr., Jonathan Gomez (Andrea) daughter Cassandra R. Gomez, and stepdaughter Frances M. Hernandez; 8 grandchildren; brother Zacarias Hernandez Jr. (Rebecca); sisters Paulita Hernandez and Anita Gomez (Rene); numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, ex-coworkers and neighbors.
