Ezequiel Garcia, 71, passed away on December 20, 2024, surrounded by his family in Mexico. Born on April 10, 1953, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico, Ezequiel lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and love.
At the young age of 18 years old, Ezequiel made the bold decision to move to the United States and worked the fields and ranch land in La Pryor, Texas where he worked tirelessly while learning a foreign language and navigating a new culture. Ultimately arriving in San Antonio, Texas in 1972 where he eventually called home, he began a journey that would ultimately lead to the creation of a successful business. Through determination and perseverance, he built a legacy that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit but also provided a foundation for his family's future.
Ezequiel was more than a businessman; he was a mentor, a leader, and a great inspiration to many. He often encouraged family and friends alike and was often heard encouraging someone with the simple saying "Sin Miedo, Cabrón", He always believed in the power of hard work and the importance of giving back, often extending a helping hand to those in need. He inspired many with his unwavering optimism, generosity, and dedication to his faith and family. Most precious to Ezequiel was his faith in God and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Ezequiel married in 1974 and built a beautiful family. Ezequiel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Ezequiel is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Garcia Varela.
Ezequiel is survived by Erminia Garcia, his son, Esequiel "Isaac" Garcia Jr. (wife Marie); daughters Terry Salazar (husband Hector) and Monica Vasquez (husband Ernest); 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Maria de Jesus Mendez Matehuala, brothers Primitivo, Elicerio, Pedro, Ruben, and Juan; his sisters Lina, Esther, Maria de la Luz, Magdalena, Adelaida, and Maria de los Angeles along with numerous nieces, nephews and in laws. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including extended family and friends, and colleagues who admired his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering work ethic.
Ezequiel's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the enduring promise of the American Dream. Though his journey on earth has come to an end, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and through his family and close friends who carry forward his legacy of resilience, love, and ambition. His warmth, wisdom, and love of life will be profoundly missed but cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May he forever Rest in Peace.
