Obituary

Felice A. Campos went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2023. She was 82 years old.

Felice was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas, on May 16, 1941, to father Matias Margarito Aguirre and mother Maria Duran who both preceded her in death.  She was the youngest daughter of three siblings, one sister, Lt. Colonel Lucia D. Aguirre; and two brothers Louis Aguirre (deceased), and Command Sgt. Major Margarito Aguirre (deceased).

Felice was married to Nick S. Campos Jr. for 55 years.  He preceded her in death in February 2023. Felice is survived by her children, daughters Debbie Reynolds Hanes (Steve); Monica R. Glover (Clary), and Marina A. Campos; and son Nick Campos III.  She was blessed to have 5 grandchildren (1 deceased), 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.  Felice also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, and friends.

Felice graduated from Edgewood High School and attended Durham College.  She worked as a teacher's aide for a short time before working with her husband to run Manpower Pest Control & Termite Co., and later a second pest control company called Amen Exterminators–Termite & Pest Control where she worked with her husband and son for many years.

Felice was a powerful woman of faith.  She completed her biblical studies at King's Bible Institute (KBI) at Revival Temple (now known as Destiny Church).  As she pursued her walk with the Lord, she found herself seeking Him in prayer asking to be used where He wanted her.  He placed the call in her heart to serve in the prison ministry; not as a support to her husband, which she did faithfully for years, but separately as a Leader. A Leader to coordinate and lead the women of the church to enter the women's prisons and bring them the word of salvation.  At first, she questioned her purpose and asked God, "Are you sure God?  You want me to lead?" She hesitantly, but faithfully stepped out of her shyness and pursued her calling with determination and a heart on fire for God. With a newfound confidence, determination, devotion, and walk with purpose; she brought the word and salvation to many, not only within the prisons; but to her family, friends, and strangers.  Her quiet spirit lovingly embraced and enveloped those seeking.

Felice was strong in faith and passionately pursued God's purpose for her life. She was a best friend, counselor, prayer warrior, and an encourager of the word of God.  She will be missed tremendously.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: "Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all." Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Proverbs 31:26-31
