Felipa A. Ortiz, widow of Trinidad Ortiz, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 82. She was born on May 26, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of the late Miguel Mendoza and Frances A. Rodriguez.

She lived a life guided by love, faith, and guidance. As a mother, she was the best any child could ask for, always present and actively involved. As a grandmother, she was playful and supportive, always going the extra mile to bring a smile to our faces. Her hobbies included reading, puzzles, playing bingo, and listening to music. Anything that involved spending time with those she loved truly made her happy. Her love of looking fabulous with her hair and makeup accentuated her outer beauty but her inner beauty is what truly shined through. She will be remembered forever and missed until we are reunited once again.

In addition to her husband, Trinidad Ortiz and parents, Miguel Mendoza and Frances A. Rodriguez, she is also preceded in death by her son, Rudy Biache Jr; daughter, Connie Biache; and a grandson, Jose De Hoyos Jr.

Family members include her children, Joe Biache (Caroline Martinez), Beatrice Esquivel (Ricardo), Sandra Biache De Hoyos (Jose Luis De Hoyos), Melissa Rodriguez (Rian Rocha), Luisa Ortiz (Craig Crezna), Trinidad Ortiz (Alex Sanchez) and Matilda Ortiz; 28 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, in addition to numerous family members.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a rosary service.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 10:00 am in San Juan de Los Lagos Catholic Church. The burial will follow with a graveside service at San Jose Burial Park.
