In loving memory of Florentino Contreras, a loving husband, father and grandfather who went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 19, 2022 at his home while surrounded by his loved ones.

Florentino Contreras was born March 2, 1939 in Las Negritas, Guadalcazar , San Luis Potosi, Mexico to father Florentino Contreras Sr and mother Dionicia Segura. Florentino migrated to the United States at the young age of 21 and throughout life, often spoke of his many adventurous experiences in Mexico and in the United States.  Anyone that would stop to listen would soon become intrigued of his stories as he was known and loved by the detailed and humorous nature of those stories. Many years he provided for his family by running his landscaping business and was focused on providing excellent service to customers. Our father would often surprise us as he would never sit still and many times, you would find him climbing a tree at a relative's or friends house to trim it or working on his lawnmowers and other projects around the house. He enjoyed staying busy and found solace and peace being outdoors.

Florentino was preceded in death by his parents Florentino Contreras Sr and Dionicia Segura. His beloved wife, Rosa Contreras, and loving sons, Raul and Ediy Contreras.

He is survived by his children, Julian and Gregoria Contreras from his first relationship and by his children from his beloved wife, Rosa Contreras; son Florentino Contreras Jr and his wife, Adriana Contreras; daughter Catherine Gonzalez; daughter Dionicia Fidencia Alvarez and her husband, Felix Alvarez; son Arturo Contreras; son Rudy Contreras; and son Jose Contreras and his wife, Laura Contreras. She was blessed with 19 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A visitation for our father is planned for Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Christian message at 12:30 p.m. Rosary at 2:30 p.m. The visitation will be at the Castillo Funeral Home on 520 N General McMullen Dr, San Antonio, Texas 78228.
