Francisca N. Salazar passed away at home December 05, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old and was born in Lockhart Texas December 28, 1934. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesus F. Salazar.

Francisca moved to San Antonio, TX and worked in the food industry.  She worked for many years at downtown S.H. Kress and ultimately retiring from H.E.B where she worked in the bakery department. She had a passion for baking and many times you would walk in to her home and smell the delicious banana bread or apple bread ready to share. She loved Thanksgiving which gave her the opportunity to try new recipes. At Christmas time it was all about tamales, menudo, and bunuelos for family and friends to gather in her home and enjoy. Saving the best for last, our mother loved to make cascarones for Easter. Over the years she made hundreds of dozens, not only for our family, but for many families in the area. She brought joy to so many people and she will be missed dearly.

Our lives will never be the same without our beloved mother. She is survived by her daughters Gracie Narvaez (Albert), Gloria Quiroga (Jesse), Esther Salazar, son Rafael Salazar, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation to take place on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will meet at Castillo Funeral Home to depart in procession at 10:30am on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 for an 11:00am graveside service at San Fernando Cemetery II.
