Obituary

Frank V. De Los Santos Jr. Age 82, San Antonio, Texas
Frank V. De Los Santos Jr. was born on April 20, 1943, to Frank and Janie De Los Santos in San Antonio, Texas. He passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He shared 64 years of marriage with his wife, Sara Leija De Los Santos, the love of his life and his partner in everything.
Frank grew up working as a migrant farm worker alongside his parents and siblings. Those early years taught him responsibility, determination, and the value of family. He carried those lessons with him throughout his life. He took great pride in his work, earning junior membership with the American Culinary Association in 1961 and working at Oak Hill Country Club. He later worked as a delivery driver for Paul Anderson Co., serving South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley, and went on to finish his career as a maintenance supervisor at Southwest Research Institute. His steady leadership and kind presence earned him the respect of all who worked with him.
Frank is survived by his wife, Sara Leija De Los Santos; his children Sylvia Scott (Wayne), Alberto De Los Santos, and Roy De Los Santos (Liza); his grandchildren Jessica Trevino (Chris), Roger Scott Jr. (Claudia), Roy Daniel De Los Santos (Sofia), Vanessa Gomez, Sara Lee De Los Santos (Ernest), and Frank "Frankie" De Los Santos (Genevive); his sisters Alice Chapa (Hector) and Elvira Haxton (Russell); his brother Gilbert De Los Santos (Mary Alice); and his 13 great-grandchildren who lovingly called him "Little Grandpa."
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janie De Los Santos Sr.; his sister, Rosemary "Marika" Menjares; his brother, Roberto De Los Santos; and his brother-in-law, Hector Chapa.
Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved fishing in Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, a tradition passed down by his father and shared with his children and grandchildren. Later in life, he discovered a new love for traveling, flying for the first time in his seventies and visiting places such as Las Vegas, Colorado, Nashville, and New Jersey. He was always happiest near the people he loved, whether by the water, on the road, or simply at home.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, his humor, his strong work ethic, and the unconditional love he gave his family. His legacy lives on in the stories, traditions, and memories he leaves behind.
