Fredy G.
Solis
October 16, 1953 – September 26, 2022
Fredy Garcia Solis went to be with the Lord in the morning hours of Monday, September 26, 2022, at the age of 68.
Born on October 16, 1953, in Paducha a small town just south of the Texas Panhandle. Fredy was one of twelve children born to the late Guadalupe and Juan Solis. He loved his most precious gifts from the Lord, his two sons Fredy and Eric, and his daughter, Stephanie. Fredy and his wife Leticia shared a life together for many years before officially entering the sacred bond of marriage. Fredy and Leticia were just shy celebrating one year of matrimony before his untimely passing.
Fredy had many accomplishments during his lifetime. He served in the United States Air Force and retired after many years of grateful service to his Nation. His gratitude for service to his country lead him to work with the C.I.A. and protect his community during his years at S.A.P.D. Fredy led a structured life but could always be counted on in any capacity as his generosity knew no bounds.
The simple pleasures in life ultimately made him happiest; seeing the nation he swore to protect during his travels, reminiscing of times once were, and feeling hopeful for the future of those he knew and loved. When family would gather to celebrate the special occasions of life Fredy truly felt complete. He enjoyed cooking, sparking up the grill and barbecuing, and especially baking for family and friends. While his time in the world must conclude, his legacy will live forever through the ones he loved.
He is preceded in death by his Parents Guadalupe G. Solis and Juan D. Solis; brother, Joe Luis; and sister, Juanita Solis Vasquez.
He is survived by his wife, Leticia Bravo Solis; children, Fredy Rios Solis (Jeffrey Keyes), Stephanie Solis, Eric Solis (Krystal); stepdaughter, Marcella Mortel (Marc); eleven grandchildren; siblings, Eudelia Solis Vazquez, Florinda Solis Gonzales (Joe Garcia), Reyna Virginia Solis Garcia (Ramon), Gloria Solis Burnett (Phillip), Juan Solis (Belia), Robert Solis (Lisa), Mary Angel Solis Martinez (Lupe), Rose Linda Solis Mora (Mike), and Jesse Solis; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower at 9:00 am with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 am.
