Gabriel
Gomez
March 24, 1934 – November 16, 2025
Gabriel "Bebe" Loredo Gomez, 91, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. He was born in Pharr, Texas, on March 24, 1934. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Guadalupe Uvalle Gomez; his parents, Justo and Victoria D. (Loredo) Gomez; his brothers, Jose and Erasmo Gomez; and his sister, Juana Jasso.
Gabriel will be remembered for his quiet strength, subtle humor, and the warmth he so naturally extended to all who entered his home. His well-loved quips, quotes, and remarkable craftsmanship became part of the family's story, cherished by all who knew him.
Gabriel spent his early years in Pharr, Texas, before joining the United States Army, where he served honorably as a Sergeant from October 16, 1956, to October 15, 1958. In 1973, he moved with his family to San Antonio, where he became a devoted member of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, attending Sunday Mass faithfully each week.
He took great pride in his long career as a bus mechanic for Trailways/Greyhound, where his steady hands and meticulous skill kept countless travelers safely on their journeys. At home, he found joy in creating wooden tchotchkes in his "cuartito," many of them engraved with the wise words and life lessons he was known for sharing.
Gabriel will be deeply missed by his loving children, Ruben (Linda) , Raul (Denise) Rosalinda (Tony) and Rene (Jennell) his siblings, Jesus, Alicia, Flora, Francis, Justo, Gloria, and Telesforo; as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is welcomed into the gates of heaven by his parents and siblings.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to All Seasons Hospice of Texas for the compassionate care provided during this difficult time. We are forever grateful for the kindness and support shown to our beloved Gabriel.
