Obituary

Genaro David Garcia Jr., born October 31st, 1956, was called home for eternal and peaceful rest on October 29th, 2024.

He is survived by his loving mother, Guillermina V. Garcia; his children, David Garcia III and Rosanna Garcia; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Paul D. Garcia (Blanca); his nieces and nephews, Bella (Gary), Rachel, Nicole (Donny), Daniel (Ashley), and Paul James; many great nieces and great nephews; and his aunt, Delores (Fernando) Hinojosa; Molly Garza; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonides Valdez, Lydia Valdez, and Ramona Cantu Garcia; his loving father Genaro D. Garcia Sr.; his sisters Lydia G. Ramirez and Elizabeth R. Garcia; his brother-in-law Jack Ramirez; and aunts, Connie V. Torres, Norma L. Prieto, and Mary Abrego.

The son of a Marine, David traveled all over the world with his father, mother, and siblings. He also attended all levels of schools in California, Japan and San Antonio during his father's military career. When David was younger, he worked in a country club's kitchen and had the honor of serving Elvis Presley with a Banana and Peanut Butter sandwich he made, a story he enjoyed telling everyone. He was a laborer and worked on various projects and construction in the San Antonio area. He was always lending a helping hand to family and friends with household issues that needed a handyman. One would always see him outside landscaping. He enjoyed planting cactus, fruit trees and outdoor plants and greenery. David's mother remembers watching her son enjoying cooking. David's favorite meal was liver and onions with ketchup which no one else in the family can agree on.

David earned numerous trophies for baseball and boxing. He learned a lot of his fast and quick moves from his Father. He loved watching Old Westerns, Comedy TV sitcoms, The Simpsons, Married With Children, But The George Lopez Show was his favorite. He was a movie buff, Halloween movies were what he liked watching the most. He was an avid reader, enjoying novels, newspaper articles, and even comics on occasion. He had a love for motorcycles. He owned a couple growing up and always looked forward to going on rides with his brother in law, sister, and friends. If he was not reading or riding motorcycles, you would normally see David wearing headphones or carrying around a radio jamming out to music. He had a passion for Rock and Roll!!

He enjoyed visiting his sister, Lydia, in Illinois. They would sing old songs together, laughing, enjoying pizza and a beer together. They would watch the San Antonio Spurs play while talking about life. He was the prankster of the family, always with a joke and a smile. Shenanigans were always afoot when he was around.

David will always be remembered for his love of adventure and fun. Just Like Rock N Roll Never Dies, Never Will the Memories Cherished of David. He always lived his life to the fullest.
