Genaro C. Garza was born on January 27, 1931 in San Pedro, Coahuila. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 25, 2021 at the age of 90. He is proceeded in death by his parents Genaro Garza and Guadalupe C. Garza and 8 siblings. Genaro is survived by his wife of 66 years, Thelma D. Garza, daughters, Thelma Bennett (John), Rosario Hernandez (Henry), Sandra Ramirez (Marcus), sons, Genaro D. Garza (Irma), George Garza (Catherine).

Genaro also raised his niece, Georgina Torres and nephew, Marco A. Torres. Genaro was a beloved husband, father, grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 16. For 36 years, Genaro served the West Side community as owner of Garza's Meat Market. After retiring, he enjoyed listening to all types of music, gardening, painting, visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and tending to his dogs.
