Obituary

George A. Braussard passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his wife and children at the age of 72. He was born on October 3, 1952, in Laredo, Texas. George was a beloved husband, Father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. He was a proud graduate of Holy Cross High School. George went on to earn an associate's degree in mechanics, a field that ignited his passion for understanding how things worked. He served 6 years in the United States Air Force, where he developed a deep sense of duty and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. His love for mechanics extended beyond his profession; he found solace in riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and working on model cars, listening to classic rock, and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Arnold and Aurora Braussard. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ambrosia Braussard, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised five children: Christopher G. Braussard, Cynthia A. Braussard (Nadab Abisai Garcia), Christina M. Padilla (Earnest), Catherine Richie (William), and Candace Broussard; Siblings: Linda Gutierrez (Joe), Phillip Braussard (Linda), and Judith Spilger (Kurt), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family. George was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. George is loved and will be missed tremendously by all. George A. Braussard will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the love and joy he brought to those around him. He will be remember him for his generosity, infectious laughter, and huge heart. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
