Obituary

George A. Flores, Jr was called up to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 28, 2023, at the age of 40. George was born on July 19, 1982, in San Antonio, Texas to George G. Flores, Sr and Maria Linda Amaro.

He is the third oldest of 5 children, Brother, Danny D. Gonzales, Jr (Jennifer), Sisters, Lilly Gonzales, Samantha Morales, and Linda Gonzales (Jay). George grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. While in high school, George was part of the TJHS Marching Band, Jazz Band and looked up to his high school band director Albert Sandoval. George attended San Antonio College where he met his best friend and wife Stephanie A. Molina and have been best friends since. George attended UTSA to start his degree in Music Education and was part of the Spirit of San Antonio (SOSA) Marching Band. He made many friends that became family to him on his journey through life. George was actively involved with various performing ensembles over the years to include the Heart of Texas Concert Band, San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble, and other ensembles around town.

George had a love for music, marching bands, fishing, darts, playing pool and anything outdoors. He loved to dance and cut a rug when he had the chance and loved being around his family and friends. He was a patient, respectful man and had a huge heart and was giving of his time and passion for music when it came to supporting the fine arts community. He was a Colts, Astros and Spurs fan and loved road trips and the Beatles playing on the radio.

George is preceded in death by his father George G. Flores, Sr. He is survived by his wife Stephanie A. Molina, Mother Maria Linda Amaro (Mario Amaro), Brother Danny D. Gonzales, Jr (Jennifer), Sisters Lily Gonzales, Samantha Morales, Linda Gonzales (Jay), Mario Amaro, Jr (Meagan), Mark Amaro (Reema), nieces Crystal, Emily, Lilly, Esme, Laila, Mia and nephews Dominique, Jordan, Jason, Jaden, Angel Antonio, Angel Jose, Isaiah, Armando, Jorge, Nathan Eli, Lucas, Ryan and family friends Amanda Stevenson (Steve), Reynaldo Benitez, Veronica Ramirez and his dogs Louie and Skippy.

Funeral Arrangements are as follows: Visitation on Sunday March 12, 2023, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Rosary at 6:00pm. Monday March 13, 2023, depart from Castillo Funeral Home at 9:15am. Funeral Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower at 10:00am. Interment at Mission Park South Cemetery (1700 SE Military Dr. San Antonio, TX 78214).
