Geraldo "Rene" Nombraña passed away on January 8, 2022, at the age of 41.

Rene is survived by his son and daughter Cody and Bekah Nombraña, his mother, Anastacia Nombraña "Ana"; his sister, Geraldlyn Nombraña "Lyn"; his nieces, Jaslyn Cortez (Damion), Damion Jr., Jayci, Jamion and Destiny Hernandez; his nephew, Jose Cortez (Amber), Aunt, Dora Saenz; uncle, Abelardo Nombraña; his cousins, Eloisa Berrientas "Mitsy" (Javier), Alyssa, JJ, Araceli, Anani, Elisa Saenz "Tootsie" (John), Melisa, Melody, Joseph Nombraña, Karla, Samantha, Ximena, Rosalie Nombraña (Albert), Albert Jr., Xavier, Lilly, Domanic, Anthony Nombraña, and Calliope, in additional to numerous extended family and friends.

Rene was born on February 18, 1980, in San Antonio, Texas. His heart was huge and his capacity for generosity knew no bounds. Rene was a big San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys fan. Rene had some rough times; he was no stranger to hardship, but he wasn't one to back away from helping anyone in need. He didn't have much but would give his last dollar to anyone that needed help. Especially to the homeless, he knew firsthand what life was like out there. Rene loved his family and especially loved the memories made together with them. Rene brought immense joy to those around him. He inspired those around him to be a better person. We loved his caring ways, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. We just thank God that he is no longer sick or in pain.

A visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church at 11:00 am with services to conclude following the mass.
