He married at 17 years old, became a father at 20 years old and in the years that followed he learned English in night school, became a welder by trade and a business owner by 32 years old.  He passed his work ethic, trade skills and love of life to each of his sons.   He enjoyed entertaining, having barbecues on weekends and had a passion for hunting and the outdoors where he was most at peace.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gilberto Soto Montelongo and Angela Ibarra Soto, sisters Ofelia Soto and Lupe Soto.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years Lillie G Soto and sons Gerardo, Raymundo and Fernando.  Daughter's in law Dalia, Roxane and Stephanie; Grandchildren Destiny, Gerardo, Daniel, Fernando, Lilliana, Danica and Zachary.  Siblings Reyna, Antonia, Ofelia, Virginia, Teresa, Ana, Cristina, Jose and Jesus numerous extended family and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday September 4th from 1pm to 5pm with a Rosary scheduled for 3pm.  There will be no internment as it was his wish to have his ashes spread in the hill country where he loved to hunt and be at peace.
