Gilbert M. Leal, 70, of San Antonio, Texas passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2022. He is preceded by parents, Federico H. and Eloisa M. Leal and brother Federico Leal Jr.

Gilbert leaves behind two beloved daughters, Lori Leal (Steve Lisherness) and Melissa Leal (Chris Schwartz) four grandkids, Megan Ball, Giovanni Leal-Schwartz, Logan Lisherness and Dominic Schwartz. Gilbert also leaves behind two sisters, Mary Alice Gonzales (Rudy) and Diana Robledo (Rudy), along with many beautiful nieces and nephews.

Gilbert was a hero to many and loved life. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years with the United States Military Air Force. He was a religious man, a parishioner at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church and an active member of the VFW #4700. His love for conjunto music, dancing, hunting, fishing, ice cold beverages and the Dallas Cowboys was unmatched and he will be missed by many.

Wednesday, January 26, 2022, visitation at Castillio Funeral Home, 3:30 pm-8:00 pm, Rosary, 6:00 pm.

Thursday, January 27, 2022, Funeral Mass, San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church, 11:30 am, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1:15 pm.
