Gilbert Mota was born on May 6, 1961 and went to be with our heavenly Lord on January 21, 2024 at the age of 62. He was a life long resident of San Antonio, TX. and was a 1980 graduate of the Edgewood District.

He was a free-spirited person and handyman who enjoyed hanging out in his backyard garage and as a young boy was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed watching the games with his younger brother David and making delicious barbecues.

They say "la cocina is where family gathers" and that's what Gilbert enjoyed. Some of his favorite foods were ribs, Mexican food, Pollos Carboneros, sodas and pan dulce especially campechanas.

Some pastimes he liked were reading, browsing through the computer, listening to 70's music and passing time with his pet dogs, currently Toby. He also enjoyed making albums out of Sports Illustrated pictures depicting the Dallas Cowboys and other NFL Teams.

Gilbert was a warrior and is forever thankful to his brother David and the medical staff at the Methodist Hospital for his care. While at the hospital he enjoyed watching TV programs such as "The Andy Griffith Show", "Adam-12", "Forensic Files" and NFL football games. Before his hospitalization he enjoyed watching programs such as "Cheers", "Taxi", "Family Ties", "The Partridge Family", "Bonanza", "Leave It To Beaver" and "Gunsmoke".

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents Arturo Mota, Sr. and Maria Zulema Moyeda Mota; His twin brother Joseph, his sister Rebecca Mota Merlo and cousin Julio Perez, Jr. He is survived by his siblings Maria Zulema Mota, Arturo Mota, Jr. (Lilia), Rosa Elvia
Mota Anguiano (Marcos), Melinda Mota Estrada, Irma Mota Casanova (Larry), David Mota, Andrew Mota (Cynthia), cousin Mario Perez (Nelly) and numerous nephews and nieces. Gilbert will be dearly missed and always remembered. God bless and keep Gilbert Mota.

Family will receive guests on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00pm.
