Gilberto Cruz III passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 10, 2023. He was 49 years old and was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 12, 1973. Gilberto loved sports, and especially loved to watch the San Antonio Spurs and the Indianapolis Colts play. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Gilberto is preceded in death by his mother, Zulema Cid, Lori Ann Cruz, (mother of Kaleb Cruz); and grandmother, Consuelo Cruz. Gilberto is survived by his son, Kaleb Cruz; daughter, Marissa; father, Gilberto Cruz II; sister, Yvette and Veronica Ojeda; brother, Victoriano Cid; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 3:30 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart from Castillo Funeral Home at 9:30 am on Monday, February 20, 2023, for a 10:00 am Mass at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
