Gloria Castillo
Bueno
December 7, 1952 – January 8, 2026
Gloria Castillo Bueno, age 73, entered eternal rest on January 8, 2026.
Gloria was born in San Antonio, Texas, and lived here her entire life, deeply rooted in her community, her faith, and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of unwavering strength and generosity.
For nearly 40 years, Gloria worked for Southwest Airlines, where she built lifelong friendships and touched countless lives. Her dedication, kindness, and work ethic made her beloved by coworkers, and her Southwest family was a source of great pride to her. The impact she made through her career and friendships will be felt by many.
Gloria was a natural caretaker. She gave freely of her time, energy, and resources to help family, friends, and especially her nieces and nephews. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her life was defined by service to others. She was the quiet strength behind so many, always willing to step in, always willing to give.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Eva Castillo and Paul Castillo, and her brothers, Paul, Juan, and Jesse Castillo.
Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Louis Velez Bueno; her sons, Louis Paul Bueno Jr. (wife Bennie) and Mark Anthony Bueno (wife Sarah); her grandchildren, Layla and Amaryllis Bueno; her step-grandchildren, Lincoln and Orion Cox; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
Gloria attended school and was married at Little Flower Catholic Church, where her faith was nurtured and remained central throughout her life.
A Rosary will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on January 21st at 6pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower on January 22nd at 9am.
Gloria will be remembered for her faith, her selflessness, her devotion to family, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and quiet grace. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
