Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria M. Esparza, who was called to her eternal rest on July 19, 2026. Born on September 28, 1939, Gloria embraced a life rich in dedication, service, and love. She now finds peace in heaven, reunited with her cherished parents, Nicolas R. Monreal and Consuelo A. Monreal, and her beloved sister, Oralia Ramos, along with her husband, Pedro Ramos.

Gloria leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of family and devotion. She was the beloved wife of Jose Guadalupe Esparza Sr., with whom she shared 61 years of cherished marriage. Her memory will be profoundly treasured by her devoted children: Deborah Zuniga and her husband Rene, Joe Esparza, Jr. and his wife Veronica, Raymond Esparza and his wife Brenda, and Moses Esparza and his wife Miriam.

A doting and adored grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Ashley Nichole, Jordan (Michelle), Ryan (Corey), Elijah (Aundrea), Kacie (Liz), Zachary (Raquel), Ericah (Cole), Kirsten (Vinny), Kaylei (Anna), Emma, Christen (Joey), Cameron, and Caitlin. Her joy was further multiplied by her precious great-grandchildren: Sage, Benjamin, Theodore, Sienna and J.C.

Gloria is also survived by her loving brother, Nicholas Monreal Jr., and his wife Diana, along with a wide circle of nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.

Mrs. Esparza proudly and honorably served her country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, a testament to her strength and commitment. Beyond her military service, she was a woman of diverse passions and pursuits. She found immense pleasure in the quiet contemplation of reading and writing, the vibrant beauty of her garden, the artistry of crafting, and the profound fulfillment of mentoring others. Her compassionate spirit, unwavering love, and insightful guidance were the hallmarks of her character, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her caring and loving spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of inspiration for those she touched throughout her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that contributions be made in Gloria's memory to Wreaths Across America Sponsorships, an organization that resonated deeply with her commitment to honoring our nation's heroes.
