It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gloria “Glorita“ R. Mendez who went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2026 at the age of 79.

Glorita is preceded in death by her parents, Amelia R. Mendez and Jesus Mendez Sr., and her brothers Joe Mendez Sr, Pete Mendez, and Jesse Mendez Jr. She is survived by her dear sister Maria M. Diaz who cared for her for more than 30 years.

Glorita loved to spend her days listening to music, dancing, watching tv, playing cards and she loved a good coloring book.

Glorita was loved dearly by all that knew her but especially her family! She was loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Every moment she spent with us will leave us with beautiful memories that we will forever cherish in our hearts. She was our angel here on earth.

Services will be held at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N. General McMullen Dr, SA, TX 78228 on Monday May 11, 2026. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm with a Rosary to follow at 6:00pm.

There will be no funeral procession to the church. Family and friends will meet at San Juan de Los Lagos Church located at 3231 El Paso, SA, TX 78207 for a funeral mass at 10:00am on Tuesday May 12,2026. Services will conclude after funeral mass.

Internment at San Fernando Cemetery #2 will be scheduled at a later time.
