Obituary

Gracie Briseño was called home on July 14, 2022, she was surrounded by love and prayer from her family and friends.  Gracie was 75 years old and was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 24, 1947.

Gracie cherished the beautiful memories she created with her family and was a very loving mother and grandmother.  Her greatest joy was for everyone who visited her home to feel welcomed and comfortable. She enjoyed dancing and living life to the fullest .  Gracie was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, she was a proud member of the class of 1966.  In the summer of 1969, she married her first and only true love, Santos Briseño Sr.  She was a retired employee of the San Antonio Independent School District where she was a cafeteria manager. She had a love for all kinds of music, especially Mariachi.  Dearest to her heart was her faith in God, it was her faith in God that kept her going and always with a smile.  She will be extremely missed.

Gracie is also preceded in death by her husband, Santos Briseño Sr., grandson Milagros Briseño (Santos Briseno Jr's son), her parents, Roberto Espino and Simona Aragon, her brothers Benny Espino, Joe Espino, Ramon Baladez and Sister Rafaela Gonzalez.

Gracie will be missed by her sons, Amado Briseño (Carmen), Santos Briseño (Lisa Cervantes), daughters Socorro Briseño-Luna (Leonard) and Marisela Briseño-Hernandez (Angel), her sister Guadalupe Rodriguez (Robert) brother in law Marcelo Gonzales, her grandchildren Jonathon Rivera, Joel Rivera, Luz Briseño, Marinela B.Hernandez (Matthew Armijo), Emanuel B.Hernandez, Juan Pablo B.Hernandez,  Stephen Briseño, Adrian Briseño, Carlos Briseño, Christy Martinez (Matthew), Anthony Cervantes, Brandon Cervantes; her 3 great grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart in procession at 9:00am on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 for a 9:30am Mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
