Gregorio Martinez Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 surrounded by his immediate family at the age of 71. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 15, 1950 to Petra and Gregorio Martinez Sr.

He graduated from Edgewood High School on May 20, 1970, where he played trumpet in the High School band. After High School Gregorio served in the United Sates Airforce and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Gregorio was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sara Morales.

Gregorio is loved and will be missed by his wife Josephine Avalos Martinez; son Gregory and spouse, daughter Jennifer; sister Estella Uriegas (Joe); stepchildren Tony, Vincent, Julia, Crystal, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to start at 6:00pm. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 for a final viewing from 8:00am until 9:45am and then depart in procession to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for a graveside service at 10:30am.
