Guadalupe "Lupe"
Arispe
February 18, 1931 – January 25, 2021
Guadalupe ("Lupe") Arispe, 89, of San Antonio, died peacefully at home on January 25, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Robstown, TX to Jose and Maria Gonzalez, Lupe married Johnnie H. Arispe in San Antonio in 1951; they would have celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary this year.
Lupe was a devout Catholic and a strong advocate of quality education. She cared for her 6 children's daily needs as a stay-at-home mother, while also working tirelessly to ensure that each benefited from attending and graduating from Catholic schools. She was a lover of life and song, welcoming all who graced her doorway. She was known for generously sharing her abundance of lovingly prepared food in a way that fed one's body and soul. Traveling to casinos with family and friends was one of her favorite pastimes. "Strength," "Praise," and "Generosity" are the words that most accurately describe her spirit.
Lupe is survived by children Judy Ann Cervera (Joseph), Diann Arispe, John H. Arispe (Belinda Rodriguez), Don D. Arispe (Kim), Jeanette Lynn Vilagi (Mark), 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Her beloved immediate family consisted of 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Lupe was preceded in death by her son David Arispe, and by great grandchildren Amelia Grace and Colton Hanson.
Her husband Johnnie will miss his best friend, the love of his life.
We love you Guadalupe - wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. You will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.
