In Loving Memory of Guadalupe Loredo Garcia
Guadalupe L. Garcia, also known as Tia Lupe, 87, was born on March 12, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away peacefully in her home on May 16, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Loredo & Juanita Filoteo and a loving stepfather, Juan Zertuche, grandson; Manuel Rice, brothers; Joe Loredo, Jesse Loredo, Juan Zertuche Jr., Sisters; Mary Loredo Perez, Minerva Martinez and Florence Zertuche Cantu.
She is survived by her children Roger Garcia, Rachel Garcia Rodriguez, and Mary Susan Garcia Rice. Also survived by her brothers; Jimmy Zertuche & Richard Zertuche, Grandchildren; Mark Anthony & Nayomi Garcia, Joseph Ryan Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, wife Selena Rodriguez, Samuel Rodriguez, Jonathan "Nikki" Williams, Jade Williams, Earl Rice III and Laelani Rice. She also leaves behind 4 Great-grandchildren; Jase & Adam Rodriguez, Jadalynn & Manuel M Rice. Additionally, she had several nieces, nephews, cousins including Socorro Ledesma, Mary Lou Sosa, Dolores Filoteo, Rose Fernandez and Becky Sanchez who loved her greatly.
Lupe worked at Baptist Hospital Downtown as a CNA for over 40 years. After retiring, she returned to work as a Home Health Provider and retired in 2021. She lived a great life full of laughter and love as she was cherished and cared for by all who knew her including her nieces and nephews along with cousins and members of her church. Lupe was a headstrong woman who was determined and extremely hardworking in all aspects. She never allowed anyone to undermine her. She was exceptionally resilient in that no matter what difficulties she faced, she rose above all odds. She always continued to help everyone in every and any way anyone needed her or any help. She will be truly missed by all, although she is not here physically with us, we know her spirit carries on with us in our hearts.
