It is with admiration and profound love that we share that our beloved matriarch Guadalupe Uvalle Gomez of San Antonio, TX passed on Oct. 1, 2025, at the young age of 95.  She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family.  Guadalupe Uvalle Gomez was born March 6, 1930, in Harlingen, TX and was the youngest child of Martin Uvalle and Zacarias Guajardo.

Guadalupe Uvalle Gomez spent the early parts of her life in the Rio Grande Valley before moving to San Antonio in the early 70s, where she and her husband raised their family.  She worked for the Edgewood School District.  She was a proud and active member of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church for over five decades where she served as a Guadalupana. Guadalupe Uvalle Gomez enjoyed bingo, crocheting and spending time with her extensive family.  She greeted everyone with a smile and enjoyed imparting guidance from her lived history and experiences.  She will fondly be remembered for her cooking, especially her tamales and cookies, and her sage advice.

She will be tremendously missed by her loving husband of 64 years Gabriel Gomez, her children Ruben (Linda) Gomez, Raul (Denise) Gomez, Rosalinda (Tony) Gomez-Medina, Rene (Jennell) Gomez, as well as her 26 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandchild.  She is welcomed into the gates of heaven by her parents, her siblings and her children Juan Trevino, Jose Trevino and Maria L. Simental.

The family invites all to celebrate Guadalupe Uvalle Gomez's life at her visitation, Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N. Gen McMullen, San Antonio, TX 78228, Wednesday Oct. 8th, 2025from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Funeral mass will be at St. John Berchmans, 1147 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78226, Thursday Oct. 9th, 2025 at 10:00 am. Interment follows at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX78226.
