Guadalupe P.
Herrera
December 10, 1925 – May 7, 2026
Guadalupe Pardo Herrera (Lupe) entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on May 7, 2026, at the age of 100. She was born on December 10, 1925, in San Antonio, Texas—the same city where she built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, service, and love.
Lupe was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, David Herrera; her beloved daughter, Guadalupe Simona Herrera; her granddaughter, Lorraine Silva; and her parents, Simona Rodriguez Pardo and Eduardo Pardo.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy carried on by her children: David G. Herrera (Maria), Guadalupe Virginia Salinas (Robert), Luciano Herrera, (Rose-deceased) Lydia Gloria Silva (Isidro), and Eleazar Herrera (Santa). Her love extended through 16 grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren spanning five generations.
Lupe had a servant’s heart. She gave endlessly, never expected anything in return. Whether volunteering with Edgewood ISD, visiting residents at the local nursing home, serving in her local church, supporting charities, opening her home for Bible studies, or cooking meals for her family and friends, she lived every day with compassion and generosity. Her home was always open, and her table was always full. Her love language truly was, serving others.
She was talented in many ways—a gifted seamstress, florist, and proud owner of “El Farolito Cafe” on Castroville Road. She was an entrepreneur, a businesswoman, and a woman of remarkable strength and determination. She never met a stranger. To know her was to feel welcomed, fed, encouraged, and loved.
Above all, Lupe was a Christian woman whose unwavering faith guided her life. She boldly shared the love of God with everyone she encountered, and through her testimony, many came to know the Lord—including members of her own family. Her strength, wisdom, prayers, and servant’s heart will forever be “the foundation” for generations to come.
While her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, we rejoice knowing she is now at peace with her Lord and Savior. We will love and treasure every memory of her. Our prayer Warrior, Our pilar of strength, the Matriarch of our family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Ariel Hospice nurses and to the family members who helped care for her during her final days.
