Guillermo
Alvarado
June 25, 1944 – February 8, 2020
Guillermo Alvarado passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 8, 2020 at the age of 75. The world has lost a truly remarkable man who loved his family near and far. He loved his wife of 50 years and was adored by his three sons, three daughters, their spouses, nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Guillermo was born on June 25, 1944 in Leon, GTO., MX to Teodoro Alvarado and MA. Carmen Valencia. His schooling was short lived after only attending school up to the fifth grade to help his father in supporting the family. He learned at a very young age that family was the most important factor in life.
Guillermo was a craftsman cobbler. He dedicated 17 years of his trade to Lucchese Boot CO., 16 years to S.A.S (San Antonio Shoes) and 16 years to Professional Lawn Management where his love for landscaping was evident through his hard work and dedication. He never took a day off. If he wasn't at work, he was tinkering with something at home. Guillermo's smile was an infectious one, he filled the air with his energy and his presence alone would bring life to those who surrounded him.
Guillermo met the love of his life Genoveva Medina while she was vacationing with family in Leon, GTO. MX. They married soon after; two weeks to be exact. It was then that Guillermo and Genoveva would begin their journey together. Their love for one another was evident to those around them. They raised six children together and instilled in them that family is above everything. Guillermo's love for his children was a strong one and he expressed it in his own way to each of his kids.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Genoveva Alvarado; his brother Maximino Alvarado; his sister Virginia Alvarado; his sons, Guadalupe Guillermo Alvarado (Catherine), Jose Luis Alvarado, Rafael Andres Alvarado; daughters, Teresa Santana-Alvarado, Trinidad Ferdin-Alvarado (Rudy) and Melissa Jo Morin-Alvarado (Joseph). Guillermo adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His parents and his brothers Rafael Alvarado and Demetrio Alvarado preceded him in death.
