Guillermo Olivares,
Jr.
January 21, 1951 – June 16, 2021
Guillermo Olivares Jr, 70, of San Antonio, Tx, passed away on June 16th 2021.
He passed away peacefully in the arms of his beloved honey Esther Olivares, Son Joshua Olivares, and Daughter Sarah Lee Olivares on June 16th 2021 at his home. The void that you left on our hearts will never be filled, the day that you passed away, half of us went with you. Until we meet again in Heaven our circle of life will be complete again.
Guillermo Olivares Jr. was born in San Antonio, Tx to Pasty and Guillermo Olivares sr. As he got older, he was drafted into the Vietnam War with the Navy and did his tour proudly and bravely. After he did his time he worked for the GreyHound Bus line followed by 34 years as a Postal Office Truck Driver.
In his 30's he met Esther Vasquez at GreyHound. They fell in love and got married in 1983. Within 2 years they had started a family, complete with 2 children, their first born Joshua Olivares and their daughter Sarah Lee Olivares. As a family they loved to travel to places such as place of DisneyWorld, DisneyLand, Cancun, and other lovely places. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Guillermo and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. To Guillermo his family was everything to him and loved them very much. Aside from family, Guillermo loved volunteering for The Knights of Columbus and also for the VA center with the Purple Hearts. He was also a CCD Teacher for the Catholic Church of Prince of Peace. The Sacred Heart of Jesus and much involved with being the Union President of the Postal Service.
On Behalf of Sarah Lee Olivares on what her father meant to her. "Dad you left this world too soon. You were the light of this house and were the heart of this family. You were the rock of the family and thank you so much for teaching us so much about life, hard work, and dedication. What it's like to you are a good man. He volunteered you helped me so much, you left your legacy behind. I didn't get to say good-bye to you, I know you know that no matter what but I always loved you. I'll always be a little daddy's girl and Thank you for always being there for me for always taking care of me, for always giving me advice for helping others. For always being a person who said yes and never said no to anybody. For always helping your family, friends, and job. You told me what it was like to be a hard worker to always work hard, pay your bills, first work hard and play hard. I love you dad, you'll never know how much you meant to everybody but to me especially, We meant a lot to a lot of people but for me you were dad."
In addition to his beloved wife Esther Olivares, Joshua Olivares & Sarah Lee Olivares, also is survived by his Grandchildren Seth Joseph Olivares and future Grandson Miles Tomas-Guillermo Olivares. He was preceded in passing by his Mother Pasty Cortez, Father Guillermo Olivares Sr, Brother Jesse Cortez.
The funeral service will be held at Castillo Mission Funeral Home on June 27th 2021 at 2:30pm. There will be visitation at the same location beginning at 2:30pm to 8pm. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
