Guillermo P. "Memo" Salas, born May 26, 1931, went into the loving arms of the Lord on May 24, 2020, at the blessed age of 88. Memo is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dolores V. Salas, parents Primitivo and Rosa Salas, sister Dolores, brothers Eduardo and Gilberto.

He is survived by his children Maria Leticia Leal (Ricardo) and Cynthia A. Mota (Andrew), grandchildren Aralee, Alyssa, Andie Mota and Ricky Leal. Sisters Ramona Leal, Juani Salas, Rosa Elia Deleon.

Visitation will begin Monday, June 1, 2020 from 12pm thru 5pm . Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 8am and departing at 11:15am with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.

Two loves of "Memo's" life were his family and sports, in particular, baseball and basketball (especially if it was the San Antonio Spurs). He created an amazing reputation for himself amongst his family as a man that cared about you like no other and would do anything to be there for you. After years of playing, coaching, and mentoring he couldn't walk into a ballpark without being recognized and approached by coaches and players alike. Oftentimes, on Sunday afternoons, from the press box, the announcers would give him his due respect over the P.A. "Bienvenido a Salitas". His presence will be missed in his family's life's as well as on the diamond. He will never be forgotten.
