Obituary

On March 1, 2021, Guillermo Longoria Teniente, Jr. was called home by the Lord. "Teniente" was born on January 31, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. Guillermo was an avid hunter, loved to work on his yard, enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Guillermo proudly served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. While in combat, he earned various medals to include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.  Upon becoming a civilian, Guillermo worked as a jet engine mechanic for over 25 years at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, and at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah.

A hero to many, Guillermo was deeply loved as a son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is preceded in death by his father, Guillermo Teniente, Sr.; mother, Beatrice; brother, Frank; and daughters, Isabel and Gloria. He is survived by his daughter, Erlinda, (Edward); daughter, Josie; son, Gilbert, (Vanessa), four granddaughters and two grandsons. Those also left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Richard (Cindy); Robert (Virginia); Daniel; & sisters, Isabel and Gloria. While Guillermo's presence will be sorely missed, his memory will remain in the hearts of those he left behind.

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 3:30 until 7:30 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6pm.  Family and friends will depart Castillo Mission Funeral Home at 8:30am on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 for 9am Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
