With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Hector Adame announces his passing on June 27, 2026, at the age of 56. He was born on September 26, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, to Henry Adame and Gloria Chavez Adame.

For 25 years, he shared a beautiful marriage with the love of his life, Sylvia, building a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love.

Hector was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and a man whose greatest purpose in life was simply to love others.

To know Hector was to experience a kindness that asked for nothing in return and a love that made everyone feel like they belonged. He had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, valued, and welcomed, and that gift became the hallmark of his life. If there is one thing everyone who knew Hector would agree on, it is that he never met a stranger. Every person he encountered was greeted with warmth, compassion, and genuine kindness. Whether you knew him for years or had only just met him, Hector had a way of making you feel like family.

He was also the calm in life’s storms. When others felt overwhelmed, Hector brought peace. His quiet strength, gentle spirit, and steady presence gave comfort to those around him. He carried himself with humility, patience, and grace, and his life reflected his faith—not just in what he believed, but in how he treated people. He showed God’s love through countless acts of kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and compassion.

He faithfully cheered on the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros, but no professional game could ever compare to watching his own grandchildren compete. They were his favorite team and his greatest joy. Whether he was sitting in the stands or celebrating their accomplishments, those moments filled him with pride and became some of his most treasured memories.

One of the clearest examples of Hector’s selfless heart was the love and dedication he gave to his son Johnny. He faithfully cared for him with unwavering commitment, making sure every need was met until his very last day. That kind of love cannot be measured. It reflects the depth of Hector’s character and the compassion that defined his life.

Hector earned his living as a truck driver, but his life’s work was loving people. Throughout his career with SAWS, the City of San Antonio, and most recently Great Northwest Recycling, he earned a reputation as one of the hardest workers anyone could ask for. He never hesitated to take on the difficult jobs, and his dedication, reliability, and integrity earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.

At Great Northwest Recycling, Hector found more than a workplace—he found another family. He loved the people he worked beside, and they loved him in return. The friendships he built there were a reflection of the kind of man he was: genuine, dependable, loyal, and deeply caring.

Although our hearts are broken by his absence, we are profoundly grateful for the gift of his life. Hector reminded us that true greatness is not measured by wealth, status, or recognition, but by the lives we touch and the love we give.
