Our beloved mother, Herlinda A. Puente, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on a glorious early Sunday morning of June 13, 2021. She was 89 years old and was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 13, 1932. She married our dad, Julio C. Puente, on March 12, 1955 along with our sister Gloria, from a previous marriage, and remained married to our dad, Julio for 64 yrs. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2019. She solely supported our sister Gloria by herself for the first 5 years of her life by working at the St. Anthony Hotel, and White Star Laundry. After marrying our dad she was mostly a stay at home mom, but occasionally worked nights at White Star Laundry, Division Cleaners and Peacock Academy during our elementary years. She raised 9 children and helped babysit her 15 grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda A. Puente, her parents Alfonso & Angelita Alvarez, brother Alfonso Alvarez Jr, sister, Clemencia Gomez and maternal grandparents Juan Sr. & Anastasia Cantu. She is survived by her children: Gloria Rodriguez (Remijio); Julio A. Puente Jr. (Diana); Margarita Lozano (Daniel); Andrew Puente (former wife Grace); Raul A. Puente (former wife Elsa); Roland Puente (Mary Alice Moncada); Ray Puente (Jennifer); Cynthia Rueda and 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; her brothers & sisters, and numerous nieces & nephews and extended family and friends.

She was a strong, hard working, loving & faithful woman.  She will tremendously be missed by all her family. We will always remember our mother, Herlinda A. Puente for her kindness and her heart of gold. Heaven has gained our most beloved mother, Herlinda. May your soul soar high in God's Heavenly Kingdom. Until we meet again, we love you endlessly.
