Herminia P. Cortez was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the blessed age of 90. She was born May 3, 1930 in La Feria, TX to Santiago and Luisa Pena. She is reunited in heaven with her parents and husband Gregorio R. Cortez, whom she was married to for 65 years. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her children Gregorio Cortez, Jr. (Juanita), Sylvia Rodriguez, Carlos Cortez, Rolando Cortez; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. Herminia was well known in the Edgewood School District serving for over 25 years as a food service administrator and school cafeteria manager.  She loved to cook and those who were fortunate enough to enjoy her meals will forever remember the love she poured into her varied cuisine.  Her family was her pride and joy and she enjoyed the many years loving and caring for them all. Heaven has gained our most beloved blessing. She will live forever in our hearts.
