Obituary

Herminia "Minnie" Salinas Longoria, age 93, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a faithfully devoted servant of the Lord.

Born on October 2, 1931, in Yorktown, Texas, and raised in Nordheim, Texas, Herminia lived a life marked by grace, God's favor, strength, and unwavering faith. A devoted Christian, she was a graduate of San Antonio For Christ Bible School and Bethesda Assemblies of God Bible School. She was also an ordained minister and chaplain.

Her ministry extended far beyond the walls of her home. She served as a missionary to the homeless and poor, both locally and in Mexico, and ministered at the Bexar County Women's Jail alongside Sister Connie Jimenez. She served her churches for decades as a volunteer, prayer warrior, and encourager to all. Her Bible was always near, her prayers constant, and her faith unshakable.

Herminia raised her family with love, wisdom, and the values of faith and compassion. She was a nurturing grandmother who not only offered warm hugs and home-cooked meals but also spiritual guidance and encouragement. Her home was a place of peace, laughter, and prayer.

She will be deeply loved and missed by her husband, Florentino Longoria and entire family. She is also survived by her siblings: Maria Garza, Raul Salinas, Sobeida Longoria, Jesse Salinas, Sarah Flores, and Felicita Salinas. Her children, who carry forward her legacy of love and faith, include: Sylvia Ann Longoria Florentino Longoria Jr. (wife Patricia Garcia Ruiz) Minerva Longoria Ramon Longoria (wife Mary Helen Longoria) Ramiro Longoria (wife Estela Longoria)

Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, including: Rey J. Perales (great-grandson Dylan), Valerie Ann Gonzales (great-grandchildren Hannah, Hailey, Presley, Philip Jameson), Sonny Ray Perales (great-grandchildren Sunny, Emma, Noah), Jennifer Isaacs (great-grandchildren Joyce, Derek, Brandon), Krystal Garcia (great-grandchildren Caleb, Chloe, Emma), Jessica Mata (great-grandchildren Caleigha, Noah, Sofia, Logan), Steven Terrell (great-grandchildren Sebastian, Mia, Julian, Max), Veronica Longoria (great-granddaughter Emilia Flores), Samantha Longoria (great-grandchildren Lonny, Kealii-Kainoa), April Lynn Longoria (great-grandchildren Loren, Isaac), Zachary (great-grandchildren Liam, Elijah, Bella, Sage), Joe Aleman, Angel Aleman, Ryan Ray Longoria (great-granddaughter Lilah Ray), Gabriel Rey Longoria, and great-great-grandchildren Khloe, Kalina, Isaac Jr., among others who were mentored and touched by her kindness and Godly example.

Herminia's life was a testimony to God's goodness. Though our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice knowing she is now in the presence and arms of her Savior, whom she loved so deeply. We stand here today as the fruit of her answered prayers.

A celebration of her legacy will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on August 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
