Hila V Gutierrez, 91, widow of Miguel M Gutierrez, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2023. She passed at her residence in San Antonio Texas, surrounded in love. She was born on March 9, 1932, in San Antonio Texas, a daughter of the late Liberty Coronado and Domingo Vasquez.

Our beloved Hila is remembered as the caring mother who never hesitated to place the needs of others above her own. Her generosity was boundless and she was always ready to provide support, encouragement and guidance. Helping others came easy and genuinely made her happy. She was awarded with a full life, the opportunity to care for her children and the many generations beyond was a blessing she thanked our Lord for every day. She enjoyed passing time in many ways from time to herself crocheting or making memories with family and friends listening to music, dancing, and playing pool. Those times may seem distant or recent; still they are kept special memories with all those who were with her. The many years Hila had were a blessing and she wasted none of it. Her legacy is a long time of genuinely good people who can come together in any situation and find the strength to keep going. Her passing is a new and difficult journey but she leaves her strength and her faith in the belief that one day we all will be reunited once again.

Hila is reunited in heaven with her husband, Miguel M Gutierrez along with her parents, Liberty Coronado and Domingo Vasquez.

Family members include her children, Narcisa Debbie Poblano, Rosalinda Martinez, and Jose Luis Gutierrez; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with great  great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation and for a rosary service at 6:00 pm.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 10:30 am in St Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
