March 4, 1932 – May 5, 2022
Our beloved father Honorato Villarreal passed away peacefully on May 5, 2022, surrounded by the warmth and love of his children. He was 90 years old, born in San Antonio Texas on March 04, 1932. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War which he was presented a purple heart. He was also a graduate of Texas State University where he received his bachelor's degree in education.
Our father was so proud of his alma mater Sidney Lanier High School. Always said "Go Mighty Voks", went to all the chili bowl games and participated in his class of 1950 class reunions and raising money for scholarships for graduating Seniors. He was in the ROTC at Sidney Lanier High School and was so proud to be able to march in the parades and High School football games representing his school.
Always smiling, in good spirits, joking and loved to DANCE! It was never a dull moment when he was around and he was always the life of the party. His favorite saying year-round was "Merry Christmas"
He loved to travel, play his lotto numbers, casino trips, watching sports and being with family. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved being around his great grandchildren. He will be truly missed by many.
He was proceeded in death by his father Abel Villarreal, mother Mecalea Benavides, spouse Rosa Villarreal, brother Ramiro Villarreal and Sister Andrea Minerva Moran.
He is survived by his sisters, Aida V. Medina, Socorro Benavides Herrera, his children Diana Villarreal Gonzales (Mario), Honorato Villarreal Jr. (Edna), Arthur Villarreal (Lisa), Cyndee Villarreal Castillo (Richard), numerous nephews and nieces, he had 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
