Hortencia Gonzales was a woman whose personality filled every room with laughter, humor, and unforgettable moments. She was blessed with eight children, six of whom continue to carry her memory and the stories that made her so special.
She had a playful spirit that people will never forget. She loved making others laugh with her spot-on Donald Duck impression, and her one of kind dance moves often catching everyone off guard and turning ordinary moments into something joyful. She also had a gift for making up her own little songs, singing them just because she could, and giving everyone nicknames that stuck for life—Leo was “Cowboy,” Issac was “Cojack Cotak,” Betty was “Blondie,” and so many others were lucky enough to be given a name only she could come up with.
Hortencia found happiness in the simple things. She loved enjoying a good plate of enchiladas with a Big Red, and those small moments brought her comfort and joy.
In her later years, as she faced Alzheimer’s and dementia, she became even more gentle and sweet, reminding her family of the softness that was always within her. Though her life had its ups and downs, she will be remembered most for her laughter, her unique spirit, and the love she shared in her own special way.
Her memory will live on through her children, her family, and all the lives she touched with her humor and heart.
