Ignacia O.
Sandoval
February 1, 1934 – July 14, 2025
Ignacia O. Sandoval, born on February 1, 1934, was called home to be with our Lord on July 14, 2025, at the age of 91. She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Santiago Sandoval, and her dear sister, Janie Callistra Mora.
Ignacia's memory will be cherished and her absence deeply felt by her devoted children: Miguel S. Sandoval, Grace & Rick Escoto, Roger Sandoval, Irma S. Adame, Mark A. Sandoval, Christopher R. & Doris Sandoval, Martin J. & Kathy Sandoval, Cresencio & Elva Sandoval, and Patrick E. Sandoval. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and many more who will continue to carry on her remarkable legacy. She is also survived by her loving brother, Jesse Esquivel.
Ignacia was the heart of her family — a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and adoring grandmother. She had a quiet strength and a giving spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She spent many years working in the cafeteria at Kennedy High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and was known for her kindness and warm smile.
Her greatest joy in life came from caring for her family. She poured her love into raising her children and took immense pride in watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow. Her legacy of love, resilience, and faith will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
The following poem is entitled "The Greatest" and is dedicated to the beloved Matriarch of our family.
If there is someone great, there is but one, and it has to be my mother. In my life, there was another one, and God knows that it was my father.
My love for them will never end, but it broke my heart to see that my father's life had to end when the Lord took him from me.
I sometimes wonder and ask God why? But he tells me do not bother, and I promise you that you'll get by, for you still have your mother.
Well, I know my Lord is always right, so I'll listen to my "Father," and I know he'll make my life so bright, for like God, there is no other.
If this is really what life's about, well, I guess I won't complain, for I know my Lord will one day shout, "Come on in to my domain."
As we mourn this great loss, we are comforted by knowing "forever is not in this world, Eternity is in Heaven. With God Almighty, we should all one day hope to be. Since salvation with him is our Eternity."
May she rest in peace. Until we meet again.
