It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Irene Flores Mermea, who left us on March 5, 2025, at the age of 59. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she was a radiant soul whose laughter and warmth brought joy to everyone she met.
As the proud mother of three sons, Gustavo Salazar, Jr., Justin Salazar, and Joshua Salazar she nurtured and supported us with unconditional love. Her legacy lives on through her ten cherished grandchildren.

Her vibrant spirit lit up the room. Her infectious laughter and captivating stories drew people in and made them feel like family. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. In her beautiful smile, we found warmth, joy, and an endless source of love that will forever light our hearts.

Irene Flores Mermea is survived by her devoted sons and their families, as well as a host of loving relatives and friends who will forever treasure the moments spent with her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us, reminding us to live life to the fullest and cherish those we love.

A celebration of Irene Flores Mermea's life will be held on 03/08/2025 at Castillo Funeral Home where we can come together to honor her memory and share stories of the remarkable woman she was.
