Irene Salinas Sanchez was called home by the Lord on February 19, 2025, at the age of 93. She was preceded in the death of her loving husband Fernando G. Sanchez. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 14, 1932. Irene was retired and a computer manager at Gus Garcia Jr High. She is loved and will be missed by her daughters Magdalena and Roger Gonzalez, Angela Sanchez, Lilia Sanchez, and Susanna and Federico Lopez. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Cindy and Tony Brangard, Roger Jr and Cindy Gonzalez, Albert Gonzalez and Dulia Castro, Daniel Sanchez, David Lopez, Destiny Lopez and Juan Juarez Vazquez, and Desiree Lopez. Irene will also be missed by her great grandchildren Amanda and Cecilia Gonzalez, Brittany Jill Avina, Christopher Gonzalez, Albert Matthew Gonzalez and Maria Martinez, Jacob Gonzalez, Salvador and Sebastian Flores. Also loved and missed by her great-great grandchildren Alicianna Avina, Roman Gonzalez, Christopher Gonzalez Jr, baby Mia Melody Gonzalez due in March of 2025 and by extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Castillo Funeral Home from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday March 12, 2025 with a Rosary to be recited at 6pm. The Chapel Service will be held at 10am on March 13, 2025 at Castillo Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 ETA.
