Irma Rodriguez
Castillo
July 29, 1961 – September 12, 2025
With profound sadness, the family of Irma Rodriguez Castillo announces her peaceful passing on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the age of 64. Irma was surrounded by the love of her family in the comfort of her home and held her beloved husband's hand as she departed this life.
Irma was born on July 29, 1961, in Floresville, Texas. She received the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She spent the first ten years of her life with her grandparents before joining her parents in San Antonio, where she would spend the remainder of her life.
It was in her freshman year at South San High School that Irma met her soulmate, Miguel "Mike" Castillo Sr. Their love blossomed into a marriage celebrated at St. Leo's Catholic Church and endured for 48 beautiful years.
A lifelong learner and hard worker, Irma earned her GED and went on to build a career in both bookkeeping and education. Among her most cherished roles were serving as a Vault Commercial Teller at NBC Bank, a bilingual aide at Terrell Wells Middle School, and an administrative secretary at Morrill Elementary.
Irma will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering loyalty, and boundless devotion to her family. She was the heart of her home and the glue that held generations together—always leading with love, strength, and grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Angelica and Jose Hernandez; her brother, Jose Angel Hernandez Jr.; her grandparents, Marcelino and Anita Ramirez Valdez; her aunts, Maria Rosa Villa and Victoria Hernandez; her uncles, Eliseo and Felix Valdez; and her cousins, Gerardo Villa, Celia Cardenas, and Beatrice Guerrero.
Irma is survived by her devoted husband, Miguel Castillo Sr.; her children, Miguel Castillo Jr., Isabel C. Garza (Edmundo V. Garza Jr.), and Adolpho Castillo; her grandchildren, Miguel Castillo III, Esmeralda Benavides (Daniel Benavides Jr.), and Elena C. Garza; and her one cherished great-grandchild, Idalia Flor Benavides. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Service times and arrangements are forthcoming and will be shared as they are finalized.
Irma's life was a testament to love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
