Irma Gonzales
Denton
September 4, 1957 – August 20, 2023
Irma G. Denton passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 4, 1957, to her parents, Pedro R. and Susie R. Gonzales.
She graduated from Thomas Edison High School in San Antonio. She worked for several years at Morningside Manor nursing home. At Morningside Manor she met and married her spouse, Robert L. Denton. She had many jobs over the years to which include assembling electronic circuit boards; photographer at the Tower of America; cashier at Jim's Restaurant; and crowd control at Shamu stadium (Sea World). She really enjoyed working but eventually retired to spend more time with her husband.
In 2017 they decided to sell the house and move into a senior apartment complex. Continuing her enjoyment of life at Affinity at Monterrey Village, she enthusiastically participated in the many activities available. A lot of new friends were made here, and she will be missed. It seems that everyone knew who Irma was.
Irma had a spirit that was infectious, and she enjoyed helping everyone. Although she is gone from us now, she will never be forgotten.
We know we will see her again in heaven. She was a believer, and we know she is in a better place—no more tears, no more sorrow.
Irma is survived by her husband, Robert, her two sisters, Jovita Harber, Alma Martin and her brother, Reuben Gonzales all living in San Antonio.
