Isabel Z. Mendiola passed away peacefully on December 25th, 2022 surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was 92 years old. She was born in Hamlin, Texas on March 21st, 1930.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bernardo and Maria Zavala; brother Nicolas Zavala and her daughter Rosa Ramos. Isabel is survived by her husband Jose David Mendiola of 47 years; daughters Alicia Galvan, Susana Manzo, Raquel Ramos, Rosa Z. Chavez and Rebecca R. Gonzalez. Isabel worked at Levi Strauss from September 1977 to August of 1992. While employed at Levi Strauss, she received many awards for her dedication and loyalty. After retirement, she continued working as a daycare provider for 2 families. She then took a job with Casa Linda to care for adults.

Most precious to Isabel was her faith in God. She also loved to sing and dance; she had a beautiful voice. Her favorite hobbies were caring for her garden of flowers and plants, knitting and sewing.

She was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, UT Longhorns and the San Antonio Spurs. She always treasured the beautiful memories she created with her family through her 92 years on this Earth.

She will be missed tremendously by her husband, daughters and all her grandchildren.

Isabel had 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 8th, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm. On Monday, January 9th, 2023 family and friends will depart the Funeral Chapel at 9:30am for a 10:00am Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.
